Welcome

Dr. Bigman

May 2008

20 years in Orthodontics!! I can’t believe it! Sometimes it seems like a lifetime ago. I remember getting off the plane July 5th, 1988 to be interviewed by Dr. Jaeger who had a one day a week practice in San Ramon and wanted to sell his 50 patient practice to devote more time to his main office in San Lorenzo. We hit it off immediately and on September 1st, 1988, I took over his satellite office and began my full time career as an orthodontist in San Ramon.

I have seen tremendous growth in this town and watched my patients come and go, grow up, go to college, get married and even have children that I am beginning to see as patients! Having a second generation come to my office is a wonderful honor. It is still the most satisfying to me to see all the patients smile when I remove their braces and hear how happy they are.

I am also proud of the charity work we have done over the past 20 years to give back to the community. Throughout the years, thousands of pounds of food have been donated to the Contra Costa Food Bank, thousands of dollars have been donated to Make a Wish and American Cancer Society along with The Smile Train, which performs cleft palate surgeries around the world, in addition to all the community events and sports teams we sponsor in the San Ramon Valley.

My lecture schedule continues at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco as well as Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. I hope to continue to share my experience with the young residents: the interaction is always exciting.

As always, I want to thank all of my referring doctors who believe in the work that I do and the results we achieve. I also want to thank all of my patients who have referred their friends, neighbors and family to my office over the years. Being blessed with the opportunity to help create over 6000 beautiful smiles has been a privilege!

My education and commitment would not be possible to implement without all of my team members who have supported me in my quest for knowledge and growth. I salute their dedication! Together we are making a difference in this world by improving our patients' self-esteem and by being role models in the community with all the charity work they help me do throughout the year.

How can I sum it up? Just to say thank you for the opportunity to serve, live my life, help others and feel like myself, and my team are contributing to the betterment of the community.

Here is to a fabulous 2008 and another 20 years thereafter!

Respectfully,
Sandy Ira Allan Bigman, DDS, MSD
